(Metro) Governor Bob McDonnell's amendments to the recently passed Virginia transportation funding bill have the approval of state lawmakers.
Both the House of Delegates and the state Senate easily passed the amendments today.
The legislation includes increases in taxes and fees which will provide more than three-billion dollars over the next six years to fund improvements for roads, bridges and mass transit.
Northern Virginiaand Hampton Roads will be able to charge special taxes with the revenues earmarked for transportation needs in their areas.
