The Charlottesville city council has unanimously approved a requested budget of $81.6 million dollars for the coming fiscal year.
The Daily Progress reports the requested budget is 3.7 percent, or $2.9 million dollars over last years request of $78.6 million dollars, and includes a requested $51.3 million dollars for the school division, as well as $731-thousand dollar for staff raises.
The request requested budget does not include school related capital improvement projects.
The Charlottesville School Board will present its budget request to the city council on March 6th.
