(Metro) The Smithsonian Institution says it has discovered a new species of mammal.
Dr. Kris Helgen says it's the olinguito, a mammal native to the rain forests of Colombia and Ecuador.
It lives in trees, eats mostly fruit and is the smallest member of the raccoon family.
Scientists say the animal is not considered to be endangered.
