The Virginia Military Institute reports one of their officials botched the handling of a sexual assault claim of a female cadet.
A VMI Spokesperson said the 2010 claim should have be filed with the school's inspector general, but wasn’t.
The VMI commandant of cadets decided to confront the woman's accused attacker, a staff member.
According to "The Roanoke Times," eight months later the inspector general was informed and opened his own investigation, with the staff member quitting, and no charged filed
