A young man injured in a motorcycle accident is on the road to recovery.
Dustin Halcott crashed his motorcycle along a section of Route 20 while on his way to work September second andspent over 30 hours lying in a ravine obscured by brush.
Halcott says he remembers turning around to get his cell phone, which he forgot at home, but very little after that.
Halcott said he slowed down for another motorcycle making a turn. That's when he believes his tires slipped on the yellow lines in the road, sending him crashing into a ravine on Route 20.
He was found by family friend Ray Cook, who retraced the route Halcott had taken when he disappeared.
Holcott suffered numerous head and brain injuries, including a broken jaw and broken nose, but is well on his way to recovery.
Clayton Homes of Stuarts Draft is hosting a fundraiser next weekend to help pay Halcott's medical bills. If you’d like to help, call 540-337-0800 for more information.
