(Metro) The nation's biggest retailer is ponying up millions in an effort to settle numerous lawsuits revolving around gas can explosions.
Walmart will contribute about $25-million dollars to a proposed $161-million dollar fund.
The fund would settle dozens of lawsuits brought against Blitz USA, the nation's largest manufacturer of the portable plastic gas cans in question.
The suits claim Blitz and Walmart knowingly sold a defective product that could explode, causing severe burns or death to those who used it.
