(Metro) DC, Maryland and Virginia will join several other East Coast states in holding an earthquake drill on October 18th.
The first ever Great Southeast ShakeOut will begin at 10:18 a.m. when more than one-million people will be urged to "drop, cover and hold on."
The drill, which comes not long after the anniversary of the August 2011 earthquake centered in Louisa County, Virginia, will involve schools, businesses, government agencies and even households.
