(Metro) The death toll from what was once Hurricane Sandy is rising.

CNN is reporting a 13th death at this hour, citing police in Pennsylvania who say an eight-year-old boy was killed after he was struck by a tree limb.

The death toll includes nearly a half-dozen dead in the state of New York.

One person is also dead in Canada.

Over five million residents in the affected area are reported to be without power this morning.
