Fluvanna Schools Want More Money

Nov 16, 2012 -- 11:51am

Fluvanna County residents are petitioning that county’s supervisors for more money for schools.

The move is being headed by Focus on Fluvanna’s Future, a group made up of citizens who want to see the Fluvanna school system get full funding.

The group has organized an online petition asking supervisors to do just that.

It’s reported the county has money in savings that could be used without  touching emergency funds, but county supervisors denied the school system those funds.

The county is planning to refinance bonds that would put more money back into the county treasury.

It's up to the supervisors if they will give those funds to the school district.
